The McLaren Formula 1 team has one of the best driver pairings on the 2024 grid. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are right up there with the very best and with the sport making a return this week at the Las Vegas GP, CEO Zak Brown has revealed how his team manages the prolific duo.

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris despite being quite young, are extremely adept behind the wheel of an F1 challenger. However, being the competitive drivers that they are, they have had quite a few flashpoints on the track this year.

There are plenty of examples from the past. Piquet against Mansell, Hamilton against Rosberg. Much depends on the personalities of the drivers. We are lucky that we have two lions in the cage, but they get along well. The transparency we maintain at McLaren builds trust. And when a storm threatens, we try to contain it before it gains momentum.

Looking at the reaction of Brown, he has emphasized transparency as the key factor in keeping things stable between Piastri and Norris. Moreover, has asserted that whenever McLaren feels there is a storm brewing between its drivers, it makes sure to step in and take solid action.

Zak Brown wants Sergio Perez to release his ‘inner break’ in 2024

While Zak Brown has taken the time to talk about his two prolific drivers in detail, he has also talked about the 2024 Constructors’ Championship. Moreover, he has especially shed light on how Red Bull’s Sergio Perez can once again make things tight in the standings.

Perez has shown that he is capable of driving onto the podium. He just needs to release his inner brake, and it will get tight again very quickly. This battle will go until the end. The drivers’ championship doesn’t look good.

The reigning F1 world champion Max Verstappen has singlehandedly carried the burden of carrying Red Bull in both the world championships. However, if Perez gets things right from the Las Vegas Grand Prix onwards, things could get extremely feisty between McLaren, Ferrari, and the Milton-Keynes-based team. McLaren is currently leading the constructors’ standings with 593 points followed by Ferrari (557) and Red Bull (544).
