McLaren targets matching Sebastian Vettel’s nine-race win streak after Dutch GP win

McLaren made an impressive comeback after the summer break when Lando Norris took his second win of the season at Zandvoort. They have become a real threat to Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship, as Oscar Piastri’s fourth-place finish reduced the gap to 30 points. Team boss Andrea Stella expressed a wish to win the last eight races to match Sebastian Vettel’s record.

Despite, Lando Norris’ recent win, the Briton still sits 70 points apart from Max Verstappen in the drivers standing. Andrea Stella mentioned that the team will remain focused and believe that catching up is still possible. Even though Norris is behind, Stella emphasized the importance of staying determined and not giving up hope. He acknowledged that there is still a chance with last nine rounds to close the gap and compete for the title from front.

With nine races remaining in the season, Stella believed McLaren could match Sebastian Vettel‘s streak. He won nine consecutive races in 2013 and became world champion. Stella was hopeful and optimistic that the team could push hard and win all the remaining races, just as Vettel did.

Andrea Stella optimistic to perform good on similar tracks like Zandvoort

Andrea Stella stated that if they again race on a similar track like Zandvoort, they can be confident about their performance. He mentioned that these tracks typically have high downforce requirements and long corners. Stella believed that McLaren’s car is well-suited to these kinds of tracks. Therefore, it will be easy for them to win races on such circuits.

I think if we go to tracks which belong to this kind of family of tracks, then I think we can be confident that we will perform strongly. Like high downforce, long corners.
Andrea Stella stated.

Certainly, According to Stella, McLaren is likely to perform well on tracks with lots of fast corners and high aerodynamic demands. Fans are thrilled with McLaren’s performance in the first race of the second half of the season and hope to see more strong results in the upcoming races.
