The Mercedes F1 team is on a mission to improve the performance of its W15 after a horrid start to the 2024 season. The outfit has failed to score a single podium so far and stands fourth in the constructors championship with only 79 points.

Mercedes brought some new upgrades at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, but their efforts did not bear fruit as they struggled to find pace in qualifying and finished the race in P6 and P7. They found themselves struggling against the likes of Ferrari and McLaren, who were significantly faster.

The German-based racing team now looks to improve and work upon their upgrades in an attempt to improve their lap times as well as balance and downforce in their car.

I would say based on the race pace that we saw in Imola that we took a gentle step forward. We will keep on slogging the assets back in the factory that find the lap time to design them, build them, get them out on the car and hopefully, just force our way up the grid.
James Allison said in a recent video

Mercedes has improved in comparison to their performance at the start of the season; however, they still find themselves slower than their competitors. As the F1 extravaganza moves to Monaco, the Silver Arrows will look to perform better with their W15.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff drops huge hint over Lewis Hamilton replacement

Mercedes Team Principal, Toto Wolff dropped a major hint over the speculations relating to the replacement of Lewis Hamilton next season. The Brit is set to leave the German team and join Ferrari, which he announced earlier this year.

But I guess for the Italians it's super exciting to have Lewis Hamilton in red next year. We will get used to the outfits. But we have got to look at ourselves and you know, maybe there is an option that we shine more with an Italian in our car.
Toto Wolff said in an interview with Sky Sports

The Italian, in context, is rumored to be F2 sensation Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who has been testing for Mercedes and has shown promising results, as concluded by Toto Wolff.

Mercedes is looking to sign a capable and promising driver for the coming season, which will give them a fair shot at fighting for the title. Quite a few names have been linked with the team in recent times and considering this, the upcoming months could give a slightly clearer picture as to who will ultimately join Mercedes for next year.
