The Mercedes F1 team has made it known that it is open to supplying engines to the Enstone-based Alpine outfit from 2026 onwards. The French outfit has been having doubts regarding its preparedness for the new regulations and thus, this has led them to dwell over the prospect of becoming a customer team.
Toto Wolff recently asked to weigh in on the situation and has recently confirmed that talks have taken place between the two outfits. The ball is in the Bruno famin-led Alpine’s court to make a move.

Mercedes is currently in fourth place in the 2024 Constructors Championship. However, the way the outfit has been closing the gap to the lights of McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull, they could be seen in the title fight by the closing stages of the ongoing campaign. It would be an ideal scenario for Wolff and Co. to end the first leg on a high before going into the upcoming summer break.
