Toto Wolff claims there is ‘no animosity’ between Lewis Hamilton and George Russell after spat at Spanish GP
George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are two very capable drivers in F1. As a result, both of them often clash heads on the track which causes further questions to Toto Wolff about their relationship. Moreover, Russell was spotted angrily asking about Hamilton’s pit stop during a qualifying session at the Spanish GP. However, Wolff has provided more clarity over the younger Brit’s little burst and what it meant for their relationship.
Upon the incident, Wolff reckoned that there will always be rivalry between two drivers in a team. Regardless, both drivers remained utterly respectful of each other while on track. This was the lesson that the German carmaker learned over time, especially after witnessing a rivalry like Nico Rosberg and Hamilton. Hence, such spats during races were nothing personal and there was no animosity between the drivers or the team.
There will always be a rivalry between the two drivers, especially when the car becomes capable to win. But the two are respectful with each other. We are transparent in the team. That's a lesson that I've learned and I think it's important that we're not holding back or not letting anything grow in terms of animosity. It’s business as usual.Toto Wolff said, as reported by gpblog.com.
Mercedes has showcased a great improvement in terms of performance since the start of the season. Brackley has started to score notable results, which could help them gain control over their position. The 2024 season will witness the German carmaker attempt to implement multiple in-season upgrades to further enable themselves to close the window on the rivals.
