Daniel Ricciardo is back racing in F1 and has impressed people and the paddock since his return. While he is currently making his trade for the AlphaTauri F1 team, the former 3-time Le Mans winner, David Kennedy, believes Ricciardo is the best man to race alongside Max Verstappen and Red Bull.

The Milton-Keynes-based team has currently got Sergio Perez in the second seat on the team, but his contract will come to a close at the of the 2024 F1 season. The 2025 seat is wide open, and David Kennedy ardently believes that Daniel Ricciardo is the best option for the Christian Horner-led team.

While shedding light on his reasoning, he told Planet F1, “It is the toughest role in the world to be the team-mate of someone of that outstanding ability. I think this is a real difficult situation now that [Red Bull] find themselves in and so, would Daniel be the man to sit in there? I always thought he is such a solid player.”

He might not have that magic dust that Max Verstappen has, but he is so incredibly close that he would be the perfect team-mate. Someone who is tough as nuts and can accept that somebody can out-qualify him by that fraction. Because, if you’re a smart racer, you can still win the race.”

While David Kennedy has backed Daniel Ricciardo to get the Red Bull seat in the upcoming years, the latter, on the other hand, is also determined to get a top seat in F1 and compete for race victories regularly. Just like several drivers in the F1 paddock, he has got his eyes on Red Bull’s 2025 seat.

However, to make a solid enough claim for the coveted seat, he would need to outperform or at the least match his younger AlphaTauri teammate, Yuki Tsunoda. The Japanese is no slouch behind the wheel of an F1 car and would probably give Ricciardo a run for his money during the upcoming second leg of the 2023 season.

Daniel Ricciardo is a former eighth-time Grand Prix who has proven in the past that he can put a Red Bull car through the absolute wringer. He has got the skills and the caliber to do it again, and considering everything, several people in the F1 paddock will have their eyes on the exploits of Ricciardo in the AT04.
