The worlds of F1 and NFL are coming together as the Alpine racing team gets a big boost from a star-studded investment group. This group now includes American football superstar Travis Kelce and his friend Patrick Mahomes. They’re joining a consortium led by Otro Capital, which invested $218 million in Alpine in June for a 24% stake, valuing the team at $900 million.
Taylor Swift‘s boyfriend Travis Kelce, from the Kansas City Chiefs, is the latest addition to this influential group. Others in this diverse group include Patrick Mahomes, golfer Rory McIlroy, boxer Anthony Joshua, and football stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Juan Mata. The group also has investor Roger Ehrenberg, who’s involved with various sports teams like the Miami Marlins and Real Salt Lake.
The consortium, comprised of best-in-class investors, athletes, entertainers, and entrepreneurs, is unified in its commitment to advancing the performance and standings of the Alpine F1 Team. The infusion of an additional €200 million ($210.97 million) into the team is expected to catalyze improvements across various facets, including media, sponsorship, licensing, and hospitality.
Speaking about the venture, Travis Kelce said, “I am thrilled to lead an investor group and join forces with Patrick and Otro Capital for this exciting venture with Alpine F1.” Joshua and Rory Mcllroy echoed Kelce’s sentiments stating they were elated to join forces with Alpine and Otro Capital.

Patrick Mahomes expresses excitement to contribute to Alpine’s growth
Patrick Mahomes expressed his excitement about the opportunity to invest alongside Kelce, emphasizing, “It’s an exciting time for the sport and this is an opportunity to bring our shared values to the world stage. I’m looking forward to being a part of its growth.” Soccer superstars, Trent and Juan Mata seconded the NFL star’s viewpoints on teaming with Alpine.
Initially sparked by a post on an Instagram account, rumors linked Taylor Swift romantically to former Alpine driver Fernando Alonso. Alonso playfully addressed the speculation on TikTok. However, these rumors faded as the songstress became linked with Kelce. Recent reports suggest Swift is now spending time with NFL star Travis Kelce, attending his football game, reigniting dating rumors. While the duo hasn’t confirmed their relationship, Swift’s connection with Kelce is fueling significant public interest and speculation.
This news follows a series of strategic investments in the Alpine F1 Team, with the initial group already including notable names such as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The team’s current sponsors include BWT, Binance, Microsoft/Xbox, Castrol, Qatar Airways, Kappa, and Sprinklr.
As the Alpine F1 Team gears up for the challenges ahead, the addition of Travis Kelce, Mahomes, and the other star-studded athletes to the investor group adds yet another layer of star power to the already impressive lineup. This announcement coincides with the upcoming U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.
