The McLaren F1 team had a fascinating 2023 F1 season. From starting the campaign on the back foot to ending it on a strong note, the team had a memorable year and while the sport is currently at a halt, McLaren’s team principal, Andrea Stella has taken the time to applaud his star driver, Lando Norris.
Lando Norris was simply sensational during last year’s campaign where was seen sparkling his on-track magic all across the world. However, despite him being considered one of the best drivers on the modern F1 grid, he is yet to score an F1 win. Andrea Stella feels Norris sometimes gets stressed because of this but never lets it affect his team.
While shedding light on the same recently, he said, as reported by Autosport;
Lando is in a phase of his career which he kind of feels the pressure of: ‘I want to win a race, I want to be there with the guys that I know I’m as good as and I see them winning races. I can really understand, the team can really understand the kind of stress that this can create. The first thing for me I would like to say is how good he was in coping with this stress because some other drivers could have reverted, could have transferred their stress onto the team.
Looking at the reaction of Andrea Stella, it is quite clear that he is very impressed with how Lando Norris has so far dealt with the stress that F1 brings on a driver. Moreover, has applauded him for not letting his stress affect people in the McLaren garage in a negative way.
Would Lando Norris be able to win an F1 grand prix in 2024?
While Andrea Stella has left no stone unturned in applauding Lando Norris, the question remains whether he would be able to score a grand prix win during the 2024 F1 season. Norris came close on a couple of occasions last year to do it but was just not able to get the better of Max Verstappen.
The MCL60 really came alive during the second leg of the 2023 campaign where Norris was able to show what he can do behind the wheel of an F1 car. If Andrea Stella and Co. can produce a potent car this year, then it will bode well for their young Brit and McLaren to do great things.

The McLaren F1 team has not been able to produce a championship-worthy car since 2008 and keeping in view their glorious history, it is just about time that Lando Norris and Oscar Piatri are seen fighting for the world championship against Red Bulls Max Verstappen this year.
