Ex Red Bull employee Dan Fallows and Max Verstappen

In June of 2021, Red Bull announced the departure of Head of Aerodynamics, Dan Fallows. Fallows had been a part of the Milton Keynes outfit since 2006 and played an important part in winning 9 titles for the team. After more than 15 years of service to Red Bull Racing, it was time for the aero maestro to take up a new challenge.

Fallows joined Aston Martin in April of 2022 as Technical director, working under Aston Martin CTO Andrew Green. Although many in the paddock consider this move from Red Bull to Aston Martin to be a step down, it certainly gives Fallows an opportunity to help build the team up to become a regular competitor for race wins and championships.

The former Red Bull head of aerodynamics also seems to be very complimentary of his new boss. Fallows has expressed his appreciation for Green in a recent interview with Speedweek.com. Notably, Green, also a former Red Bull employee, has been a part of the Silverstone based outfit since 2010 and aims to lead the team towards success going into this season.

Andrew has a wealth of experience, and he knows very well how to weld us together as a management team. One of his tasks that I prefer is to look over my shoulder and keep saying to me: ‘Did you do this, did you do it? ” he said. When we had conversations in which we had to clarify how we work together in certain areas, he regulated all of this fantastically. In this supervisory function, it was invaluable,” he continued.

Evidently there is enough respect and camaraderie between Fallows and Green to work well together. 2023 would be their first real opportunity to display what the team is capable of producing under very experienced leadership. It will be interesting to see if Fallows can replicate the success Red Bull have experienced in the past with his contribution.
