Even last year, the 34-year-old was spotted at the US GP with the French manufacturer. However, this time the former champion was himself in Riyadh due to his match with Francis Ngannou in the Arabian city. Moreover, the Brit won his fight against Ngannou in dominating fashion.

The woes continue at Alpine

Last week in Bahrain, the French team only managed to finish in a disappointing 17th and 18th place. The team hoped for a better race in Jeddah but the 50-lap race race didn’t bring any good luck for the team yet again.

Pierre Gasly said after the Bahrain GP said:

I wish I could read in the future and have the solutions. At the moment we are all pushing in the same direction, we are aware of the situations, we are aware of the limitations we have. We have to find solutions with the tools we have in our hands.
Pierre Gasly said as reported by F1

On the formation lap, before the start of the race, Gasly suffered a gearbox problem. Moreover, the Frenchman retired the car on lap 1 while his teammate, Esteban Ocon continued. Following this, the race on for his compatriot was also not easy as he was stuck in a DRS train behind Haas’ Kevin Magnussen.

Subsequently, this ruined the Alpine’s outing at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Both the drivers have failed to score any points and the team is dead last in the constructor standings. However, the team at Enstone would be looking to solve this problem and make progress during the ongoing campaign.
