Lance Stroll’s downhill season does not seem to be recovering any time soon. Sitting on P10 in the standings, he holds a small lead of one and three points from Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon. The 24-year-old hasn’t scored a single point in the last five races. As time runs out, Aston Martin chief Mike Krack has once again come to his support.
Krack talked about the possibility that certain characteristics of their car are hindering Stroll’s performance. He said that the team has yet to collect some concrete data that satisfies the claim. Mike Krack said that Stroll’s loss of competitiveness is a big concern for the team and has to be resolved as soon as possible. Stroll also commented on the issue, saying that he was happy with the car in the earlier part of the season.
“The fact is that he has lost a bit of competitivity, and this is something we need to understand. We have suspicions and indications, and this is I think what Lance is referring to. But then we need to make the according changes and see if this is confirmed, that if you improve that, he improves as well,” said Aston Martin driver Stroll, as per Autosport.

Lance Stroll talks about his struggles with the AMR-23
Stroll’s 2023 season has been one to forget. The massive gap between him and Fernando Alonso has not been helping him as well. His poor performances have made him the target of criticism from several personalities. As the season nears its end, he has talked about how the team’s new car has added to his woes.
Stroll revealed that he was much more comfortable with the car at the start of the season. He revealed that the car’s aerodynamic upgrades did not work out the way they expected. Stroll said that the team is trying to figure out where they went wrong and are trying to retain their original characteristic.
“I think we took some directions with philosophy, of bringing upgrades aerodynamically, that I don’t think made us go the step forward that we were hoping for… It’s just about understanding why. In theory, you want to make the car go faster, but I think we might have added overall downforce but made the car trickier to drive,” said Stroll.
