The Red Bull F1 team has easily got the best car of the 2023 F1 grid and amidst its dominance at the front, Aston Martin’s Head of Performance, Tom McCullough has indicated that the AMR23 could also be seen supporting similar designs in future F1 races. He has been left very impressed with the work of Red Bull this year.

The RB19 has operated in a league of its own this year and none of the other F1 teams have even been able to come closer to the kind of performance output Red Bull has been able to generate from its car. Moreover, in the hands of Max Verstappen, the car has proven to be an extremely lethal weapon.

The Aston Martin F1 team was the team to beat after Red Bull during the initial phase of the 2023 F1 season. Fernando Alonso managed to score six podium finishes in the first eight races. However, as the season has rolled on, the Silverstone-based team has moved backward on this year’s grid.

The team is well aware of the areas in which it has to improve and after the summer break, Aston Martin would need to be at the top of their game at every event in order to stay amongst the top three teams. McLaren has made a huge step up recently and has shocked the paddock with several teams left scratching their heads.

Aston Martin is currently third in the Championship but Ferrari is not too far behind. The gap between the two teams is extremely small and if Alonso and Co. are to make sure that they go into the summer break in the same position, then they would have to put in a strong performance at this weekend’s Belgian GP.
