The Aston Martin F1 team since last year has made a tremendous jump. From struggling during the initial years under the Aston Martin branding to now having become a proper midfield team, it has come forward by leaps and bounds.
The owner of the team, Lawrence Stroll, wants to develop it into a world championship-winning outfit in the coming years. But it has recently come to light via Fotmu1a.uno, that its Saudi sponsor, Aramco is reportedly plotting a move to secure a full takeover of the team.
In November 2023, Lawrence Stroll decided to sell a minority stake in the $1.02 billion worth Aston Martin to the US-based Arctor Partners. At that time, it was being seen as senior Stroll’s way of slowly moving away from the F1 project.
Saudi Arabia’s energy giant, Aramco has been the title sponsor of Aston Martin since 2021. But now it seems that to increase the presence of the country even more in F1, it could try to take full ownership of the Silverstone-based team. However, Lawrence Stroll on multiple occasions, has shown his commitment toward making Aston Martin a world championship contender. Despite the Aramco reports, it seems quite unlikely at the moment.

While Aramco has potentially got its eyes set on taking over the Aston Martin F1 team, its star driver, Fernando Alonso, is never too far away from the headlines. During the ongoing season, he has made immense noise in the paddock for his comments regarding retirement.
At 42 years old, Alonso is pushing his body every day to get the best out of him during Grand Prix weekends. He is the oldest driver on the current grid, and while several prominent personalities have had their say on the Spaniard, former F1 team owner, Eddie Jordan, has also taken the time to talk about him.
People have a habit of buying boats and retiring. Let’s see what happens but Fernando should be in Formula 1. He’s such an exciting driver and as long as he wants to do it there’s always a place there in my heart for him.Eddie Jordan said on Formula for Success podcast
Fernando Alonso ended the 2023 F1 season as the fourth-fastest driver in the Driver’s Championship. He performed really well last year and has started, the ongoing campaign in a solid fashion as well.
Alonso managed a strong fifth-place finish at the Saudi Arabia GP and he would look to carry forward that moment into the upcoming Australian GP weekend. It will be fascinating to see how he would go around the free-flowing Albert Park circuit in his AMR24.
