Over the Formula 1 off-season, Red Bull Team Principle Christian Horner was accused of possible misconduct towards a female employee. F1 and Red Bull faced a lot of scrutiny over the issue and the stories, reports and rumors around the saga is massive PR disaster for the premier open-wheel racing series.
Gunther Steiner, the former Haas Team Principle was recently asked about his thoughts on continuous new revelations in regard to the situation. He has previously worked with the Milton- Keynes-based team and Christian Horner back in 2005. The race-pundit believes the issues at Red Bull should be sorted as soon as possible.
The entire saga has had a very negative effect on Formula 1 as a sport. With new stories and rumors disrupting and diluting the story more, the sooner Formula 1 and Red Bull deal with it, the more the sport can get back to concentrating on racing.
At the top of the company there will be some people who will think back to what they want to do, I hope that for the sake of Formula 1 to end this story and move forward.Gunther Steiner speaking at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival.
F1 Insider recommends Red Bull to get rid of Max Verstappen instead of Christian Horner
Long-time F1 insider and Journalist F1 insider Joe Saward has kept a keen eye on the Christian Horner saga that is taking place at Red Bull Racing. He recently claimed that the Milton-Keynes-based team should get rid of three-time World Champion Max Verstappen instead of Horner.
If I were the owner of Red Bull Racing I would get rid of Verstappen and not Horner because that is Team Horner. Even if he is the best driver in the world because if you don’t want to destroy the team you don’t get rid of the team leader who built it.
Joe Saward said via Inside F1 podcast.
Moreover, there were a lot of rumors about Helmut Marko leaving Red Bull during the race at Jeddah. When Verstappen was asked about it he said he was unsure about his future at the team if Marko was to leave. Sawar added that this showcased the World Champion’s doubts about the team going forward and that should be considered as a sign of letting him go.
