Red Bull beast Max Verstappen is on the verge of winning this year’s Formula 1 Championship with a current lead of 104 points over his nearest rival–Charles Leclerc of Ferrari. This will be the Dutchman’s second title in a row as he came out victorious from the fierce title battle that took place between him and Lewis Hamilton.

At only 25 years of age, Max Verstappen has achieved feats that other experienced racers are not able to attain in their entire career. And behind his huge success, Max has always had his father–Jos Verstappen.

Jos Verstappen is a former F1 racer himself, who took part in eight seasons and had driven for seven different teams. Jos has always guided and pushed Max Verstappen to reach where he is today, and hence, when the 2021 WDC winner went to sit in the cockpit of his father’s old Honda racecar, Max was hit with a rush of sweet memories. The racer took to Twitter to post about his walk down the memory lane while sitting in his father’s car, and described the experience as “a very special moment”.

As one of the most prominent racers in recent F1 history, with hundreds of records in his name and many sponsors backing him, Max Verstappen has achieved a “star status” very early in his career. The racer joined the sport when he was only a little over 17 years, and became a regular Formula 1 driver with Toro Rosso in 2015. His grit and dedication brought him up and he managed to impress everyone at Red Bull with his Championship victory over seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton last year.

Despite all these achievements, Max Verstappen was reminded of his humble beginnings when he took the seat in the cockpit of Jos Verstappen’s racecar. Max posted about the experience with the caption–“Back after more than 20 years. It was a very special moment today to be back in the car I sat in as a young boy when my dad drove for Honda. Especially when realizing all the successes we achieved together over the past few years.”

In other news, Max Verstappen stands a chance to win his second F1 title if he gets race win and fastest lap at the Japanese Grand Prix. And with eleven GP victories in a single season, Max eyes breaking another record, currently held by Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel–of winning the highest number of Grands Prix in a single season. Now, it is to be seen if Max achieves these goals or if his rivals from Ferrari and Mercedes snatch away the chance.
