Last season, Max Verstappen celebrated a poignant victory in front of an ecstatic Dutch crowd by adopting his father Jos’ former helmet design. As the summer break ends, Max will be looking to extend his lead in the drivers’ championship. Meanwhile, X (formerly Twitter) reacted to his new crash helmet.

One user praised Verstappen’s new helmet, Tweeting. “thats actually such a pretty helmet omg.” A different user had the same opinions as they Tweeted, “simply lovely.”  However, few users didn’t shy away from comparing Verstappen’s helmet to his former rival Lewis Hamilton. “Better than Hamilton,” they Tweeted. At the same time, another user accused the Dutchman of aspiring to be American. Their Tweet read, “You secretly want to be an American, huh.”

A user on a completely irrelevant note called Max “a rocketship merchant.” One user already predicted Max’s victory at Zandvoort, Tweeting, “Can’t wait to see you win with it on by 34 seconds.” However, a different user expects him not to finish his home race. “Bro is gonna DNF. LOL,” they Tweeted.

Verstappen’s triumphs in 2021 and 2022’s Dutch Grand Prix underscore his dominance. Zandvoort’s overhaul for Formula 1 standards has paid off. With an imposing 125-point lead over Sergio Perez, the Red Bull driver enters the summer break after ten victories out of 12 races this season.
