Ferrari‘s results in the recently-held Mexican Grand Prix have become a perfect example to show everything that has gone wrong with the team in this season. Starting off the year as early Championship favorites, the Maranello outfit first lost their leading position in the World Championship standings to Red Bull as the latter further developed their car and got rid of the underlying reliability issues to display perfect performances at the Grands Prix.

Now, Mercedes have also managed to make some changes to the W13, which gave the Silver Arrows enough power to give Max Verstappen’s Red Bull a run for its money during their outing in Mexico City. But Ferrari are still in the same circle of making strategical errors and not being able to go full-throttle with their F1-75, and thus, the team came nowhere near beating their main rivals–Red Bull and Mercedes, at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

When the Mexican GP was days away, Carlos Sainz had said the fight for the top spot would go six-way between the two Red Bulls, the two Mercedeses, and the two Ferraris. But in the end, it was clear that the prancing horse was not as capable as the charging bulls and the Silver Arrows. But still Mattia Binotto praised the team’s work at a recent interview after the Mexico City race. And fans are not happy about it.

At the Mexican GP, the timings put up by Ferrari were disappointing for all the Tifosis as Carlos Sainz, who finished in P5, had a gap of 58.23s from the race leader Max Verstappen, by the end of the race. And Charles Leclerc, who got the sixth spot, had a gap of 1’08.77s from the Dutchman. Even after such ghastly timings, Mattia Binotto said, “We saw that the one stop was the fastest today. So, one-stop was [our] main plan and as well the right plan for the race.”

Fans could hardly believe how Mattia Binotto managed to be so optimistic about Ferrari’s results, and here is what they said:

In other news, Charles Leclerc had previously said he hopes their team finishes this season on a high with some good results in the remaining races in Brazil and Abu Dhabi. Now, it only remains to be seen if Mattia Binotto’s team manages to bring about any changes in their results by the time the paddocks hit Sao Paolo, or if they suffer similar disappointment as they did in the Mexican GP.
