Silverstone Formula 1 Sprint Race

Every year, the British Grand Prix is organized in the historic grounds of Silverstone and the high-profile event requires a lot of security so that there is no disruption in the events. This year, the Northamptonshire Police have received a tip that there might be a potential uprising that the protesters have planned to hold at the Silverstone Circuit when the proceedings of the British GP will be underway.

With the intelligence reports suggesting that there will be protests during the British GP which might hamper the schedule that the Silverstone races are supposed to follow, the police have quickly stepped up to take measures to curb the uprisings before they even happen. They have issued a warning against those who are planning to access the track during the Grand Prix, and the report has been shared by the Northamptonshire Police with the F1 news outlets.

With the Silverstone Grand Prix coming up in just a few days, the local police have been privy to all the information regarding any sort of incident that might disrupt the schedule that the British GP is supposed to follow. And in the middle of this, came a report from the intelligence officials that there are some protesters who might hold an uprising during the Grand Prix weekend at the Silverstone Circuit.

In order to curb the potential protest, the Northamptonshire Police have already issued a warning on July 1, addressing the protesters. The report suggests that the Police are taking extra measures to make sure the F1 events proceed smoothly, and it also asserted that “anyone thinking of taking advantage of the race weekend… will be caught“.

According to @NorthantsPolice, there is “credible intelligence” that protestors are planning to disrupt the F1 Grand Prix and potentially invade the track on race day.

Chief Inspector Tom Thompson, event commander for Silverstone, is the officer in charge of making sure the races happen without any disruption during the weekend. He said, “We have received credible intelligence that a group of protesters are planning to disrupt the event and possibly invade the track on race day.

He also mentioned, “I want to appeal directly to this group of people and strongly urge you to not put yourselves, the drivers, as well as the many marshals, volunteers and members of the public, at risk. Going onto a live racetrack is extremely dangerous – if you go ahead with this reckless plan, you are jeopardising lives.”
