“But we also have emotions too”: Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz react to fan speculations about them

In the most recent collaboration video between Shell Motorsport and Italian-based racing team Scuderia Ferrari, driver duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz reacted to assumptions that the fans have of them.

A certain fan voiced the issue of fans seeing F1 drivers as some sort of a superhuman and dismissing the fact that they’re human beings too at the end of the day. She also added that it is something that people usually tend to forget, including fans like her.

To that, Monacan driver Charles Leclerc replied, “Yes, we are talented in what we do. But we also have emotions too. We are going through hard times sometimes.” He also added that there are good times in a driver’s life too, but mostly they’re plagued with more difficult moments. Fellow Ferrari teammate Spaniard Carlos Sainz replied in unison, “We cannot complain”.

A certain fan made the assumption that the Ferrari team is one huge family. To that speculation, Leclerc replied, “Yes, it is true. We feel like a family.” He then continued to share a laugh with teammate Carlos Sainz about how he sees more of Sainz than his own family at the end of the day.

Sainz then chimed in by saying that the entire unit including the mechanics, engineers and the other workers make it one huge family. The duo then continued to talk about how the racing team travels the world together, going through all the good times and the bad times together.

Sainz added the vital influence that the Tifosi has to play in this factor since everywhere they go, Scuderia Ferrari stands out with a bigger fan base than anyone else. So wherever they go, it almost feels like a small home Grand Prix for the duo. Leclerc agreed to Sainz’s statement: “Completely true.”
