The Ferrari Formula 1 team has been brutally bashed over the last two years for how they have handled their business from the F1 pit wall. The outfit made quite a few strategic blunders in 2022 and managed to do the same this year. But, despite this fact, Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz has claimed that it is no longer their Achilles heel.

During the recently concluded campaign, there were quite a few instances where Ferrari’s race strategies baffled everyone interested in the sport. From the F1 pundits to the well-experienced commentators, all of them were baffled at some of the decisions the Fred Vasseur-led team made this year.

Over the 22 races, Mercedes and Red Bull also made strategic mistakes. If we made more mistakes, then maybe there is still something to optimize. But it is a long way from being our Achilles heel.

Looking at the reaction of the prolific Spaniard, it is safe to assume that he is not too worried about Ferrari’s strategic decision-making going forward. Moreover, has also made it quite clear that along with Ferrari, F1’s top dogs like Mercedes and Red Bull also made some strategic blunders this year.

Would Carlos Sainz and Co. be seen fighting for the F1 world title in 2024?

While Carlos Sainz does not see strategy as a major issue for the Maranello-based Ferrari F1 team, one of the main questions the teams need to answer going into the 2024 season is whether they will be able to produce a championship-worthy car. It has been some time since a Ferrari was seen having a serious go at the title.

In 2022, the team had the car to challenge Max Verstappen and Co. but because of reliability issues, their charge ran out of steam around the midway point of that campaign. During this year, the SF-23 proved good enough only to secure third place in the Constructors Championship.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed above, the 2024 season of the pinnacle of motor racing is going to be an extremely crucial watch from the point of view of the Ferrari F1 team. If they will be able to able to produce a title-worthy car for next year, the title fight will most definitely become extremely entertaining.
