The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster ride for F1 fans around the globe. In all the kerfuffle, Carlos Sainz had suffered a big blow of losing his seat at Ferrari from 2025 onwards. The prancing horses revealed their 2024 challenger at Maranello last week. Subsequently, the Spaniard seemed sceptical about whether the SF-24 would suit his driving style or not.
The 29-year-old has been the pillar of consistent point-scoring at the Italian outfit. The Smooth Operator is known for an ‘understeering’ driving style similar to Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. Following SF-24’s launch, the two-time winner has shared his thoughts on the car.
Whether it suits my style, impossible to say. We want the car to be more drivable. We want the car to give us less bad moments, less tricky moments on track, a bit easier on tyres, a better race car in general. And hopefully that means better results. I will adapt to whatever it is that the car is doing and I will drive it as fast as possible.Carlos Sainz said as reported by gpblog.com.
The Spaniard seemed to be weary about whether the car would be suited to him or be more like that of an aggressive style that suits the Monegasque more. Throughout the winter break, engineers at Maranello had been working and fixing vital issues in the car. Both the drivers took out the car for a shakedown in Fiorano. Though Sainz is sceptical, he wants to give his all for his last season with the Scuderia and take on the challenge to Red Bull.
Who will be the new home of Carlos Sainz?
Sainz had joined the F1 grid in 2015 alongside reigning world champion Max Verstappen. The Spaniard is the son of the legendary WRC driver Carlos Sainz Sr. and has deep connections with Motorsport.

The 29-year-old has been associated with a move to Sauber who will turn to Audi in 2026 as his father also drives for the German manufacturer in rally. However, this move has been on the table for multiple years but the talks have never passed the first stage.
A move back to the Red Bull family is on the cards but would be a difficult affair to pull off. Also, a move to Mercedes seems the best, as it would be an exchange of drivers between the two teams. However, no one knows where will the Spaniard land and this will be revealed as soon as he makes a decision.
