Carlos Sainz, the Ferrari F1 driver, had a very indifferent 2023 season. The SF-23 proved quite a handful throughout the campaign and with him being the only non-Red Bull driver to win a race, he has mercilessly bashed last year’s car and admitted that he did not have a great time driving the car.

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were seen complaining over team radio several times during the 2023 campaign. They had one issue or the other hindering their progress on most occasions and keeping everything in view, Sainz wants Ferrari to do a better job with the car for the upcoming campaign.

While shedding light on the SF-23 and its shortcomings in detail, the Spaniard recently told Señor de los Medios;

I'm not enjoying driving the Ferrari. There has been talk that (the 2024 car) suits me well, that I like it. Honestly, the Ferrari has given me headaches not only to me. For my teammate, for Ferrari, it is very difficult to understand. I hope that in 2024 it will be more versatile and easier to carry and tune up.

Looking at the strong reaction of Sainz, it is quite clear that he did not have the best of times driving the SF-23 during the 2023 F1 season. Moreover, has even indicated that the care gave him several headaches, and thus, does not want a repeat of the same during the 2024 campaign.

Carlos Sainz proved second best to his teammate in 2023

While Carlos Sainz has left no stone unturned in ripping into Ferrari’s SF-23, overall he had a 2023 to forget as he was outperformed by his teammate, Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque, despite his problems, was able to finish the campaign ahead of Sainz in the driver’s championship.

Sainz was only able to amass 200 points whereas Leclerc, on the other hand, put on board 206 to finish in fifth place in the standings. Moreover, the latter’s tally was good enough to end the campaign equal to the former 2-time F1 world champion, Fernando Alonso.

Carlos Sainz is seen as one of the top drivers in F1 who has the caliber to become a future world champion. However, if Ferrari is not able to deliver a championship-worthy car in the upcoming years, he may have to look at other places to achieve his biggest dream in the sport.
