Carlos Sainz officially signs a two-year contract extension with Ferrari and sends out a firm message: “I’ll give it all to try and win both World Championships”
Carlos Sainz secures P3 in Saudi Arabian GP
Carlos Sainz has been absolutely incredible for Ferrari ever since his move from McLaren. The Spaniard has obviously not been able to match up to the standards set by Charles Leclerc but there’s no way that Mattia Binotto could be disappointed his performances and work ethic. We all know the kind of potential he has but that has started to more often in the red colors of Ferrari.
The Spaniard got the better off his team mate, Charles Leclerc, last year. This was the first time that the talented Charles Leclerc finished below his team mate after a full fledged season. But, Carlos Sainz has always had that cutting edge to himself even when he was driving for a midfield team. That’s exactly what convinced Mattia Binotto of his credentials as a top notch Formula 1 driver.
After such incredible performances, contract negotiations were inevitable. Carlos Sainz has time and again expressed his desire to continue with Ferrari. He recently said, “Obviously, it’s an important contract in my career, and I really wanted to make sure that everything was done and [that] both Ferrari and I were happy with what we are signing,” as reported by racingnews365.

Ferrari renews Carlos Sainz’s contract following his incredible start to the season
But there seemed to be a bump in the talks according to a report. There were rumors that Carlos Sainz wants to sign a two year deal with Scuderia Ferrari while the team wants to give him a one year deal with an option of one more and we could see what both parties are trying to do. While Carlos Sainz wants to secure his place as a Ferrari driver, the Italian Giants want to keep their options open.
But, now, it seems like Ferrari and Mattia Binotto gave in to Carlos Sainz’s demands. It’s been confirmed that Carlos Sainz will be a Ferrari driver for the next two year. Carlos Sainz after signing the contract said, “Very happy to renew two more years with ScuderiaFerrari! Putting on this suit and representing this team is a great honour for me.“
“Ferrari is fighting again at the front of the field and I’ll give it all to try and win both Championships! Vamos!“
Carlos Sainz in the kind of form that he has been in is an asset to any team in Formula 1 right now. So, if Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc keep up the standard, it’ll be really hard for any team to counter it.
