Carlos Sainz secured his first pole position this season at Ferrari’s home race in Monza. This is the Spanish driver’s first pole at the Italian GP. However, the 29-year-old will have to face Max Verstappen‘s charge at the start of the race as the two-time world champion slots beside him on the front row. Nevertheless, Sainz has made it clear that he will do his best to win the race.

The Spanish driver made a promise to the thousands of Tifosi at Monza that he would do everything to win. Sainz would be aiming for a good start to keep Verstappen behind him into Turn 1. He said, as quoted by SB Nation, “Tomorrow, I am going to give it everything to hold onto P1, have a good start, and then go from there. I am going to give it everything, although Max is usually faster in race simulations.” Certainly an exciting contest for fans.
