Carlos Sainz reveals his ‘best memories with Ferrari’ ahead of farewell season

The 29-year-old Spanish racer Carlos Sainz will be leaving Ferrari after the end of the 2024 season. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is set to replace him ahead of the 2025 season to drive alongside Charles Leclerc. Sainz ahead of the farewell season has revealed his best memories with the Ferrari and what he had achieved with the team.
The Smooth operator has remarkably shown his consistency with his first-ever victory in Formula One which occurred at the 2022 British Grand Prix. The 29-year-old took his second victory in the Singapore GP by exhibiting good knowledge of tactical brilliance and breaking the Red Bull streak. Sainz made his second victory remarkable by saying that it was his first-ever smooth operation in Ferrari.
Just going back, I have very, very, very good memories in this team But I would start with the first day driving a Ferrari in Fiorano. My first-ever lap for Ferrari was one of the most emotional moments of my career. First podium with Ferrari, first week with Ferrari, first pole, first win and then, obviously, my Singapore win. Sainz also said that in the paddock, he used to bring a lot of close friends with him. The 29-year-old showed his gratitude to the engineers and all the team members for sharing a good time with him. Sainz also said that his first lap in Ferrari was so much emotional.
It's been a great experience for me, I think it has only made me grow as a driver to experience life in red, experience travelling the world as a Ferrari driver, going to all the circuits. I'm going to do all kinds of scenarios, not being a Ferrari driver. It also made me mature, you know, also in front of the press, in front of the Tifosi, in front of everyone.Carlos Sainz added.
Sainz feels the experience overall has made him a more mature person in addition to making memories for life at Ferrari. Sainz also said that the working atmosphere here is distinct from that of any other team. He also said he achieved a lot of things in Ferrari. The Smooth Operator also said that the vibe in the Ferrari gives a different vibe.
What is ahead of Carlos Sainz after the end of the 2024 season
With Sainz’s contract with Ferrari ending at the end of the 2024 season. Also, there are other 12 other driver’s contracts whose contracts will be ending at the end of the 2024 season. There will be a good driver market at the end of the 2024 season. Many teams may go for young talents. Many teams will be keen to bring the 29-year-old into their respective team.
But various teams that can bring Sainz to their teams according to their projects are Mercedes, Red Bull, Stake, Visa Cash App RB. Mercedes might be interested in Sainz due to the departure of Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari after the end of the 2024 season and to fill that seat they might need an experienced driver. Also, Sainz was a Red Bull driver in his young days so he might switch to Red Bull. The Sainz to Audi links have been constant since the German manufacturer announced their takeover of the Swiss outfit.
Mercedes will likely consider Alex Albon as a potential replacement for Hamilton if they decide against going for Sainz, Williams could be on the cards for Sainz. Carlos Sainz might be having endless option after the end of 2024 season. But that will depend on his 2024 season whether Sainz could perform well in Ferrari once again or not.
