Carlos Sainz delivered one of the best races of his F1 career at the Italian GP, but it has come out that while attending an event after the race, he was the target of robbers who miserably failed in snatching his €500k worth of watch. The timepiece was initially taken off of Sainz’s wrist, but he and his crew were immediately able to recover it.
Carlos Sainz managed a sensational P3 finish in front of the Tifosi at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza circuit and was over the moon with his efforts. He was elated during the podium celebrations and decided to enjoy it even more during a night event in the bustling city of Milan.
However, he was not expecting a robbery attempt on him, especially after his heroics at the Italian GP. Sainz was in a joyous mood during the event, but despite this fact, he was attentive enough to know that a robbery attempt was made on him, as reported by the Mirror. This is not the first time that a robbery attempt on an F1 driver has taken place.
Some time ago, his teammate, Charles Leclerc, was also in a similar situation, but unfortunately for him, his watch was stolen during an event. Robbers targeting sports personalities have become quite a common thing these days, and similar news pops up daily from all over the globe.

Carlos Sainz would look to build on his Italian GP outing
While Carlos Sainz’s night during the Italian GP weekend ended on a sour note, he can be pretty pleased with his efforts at Ferrari’s home Grand Prix. He gave everything he had in his arsenal during the race and, because of that, could just pip his teammate for third place.
Moreover, going forward, it will be important for Sainz to keep building and putting in consistent performances race after race. Only eight events are remaining on the 2023 Formula 1 calendar, and from the Spaniard’s point of view, it is only going to be about improving as much as possible.
Next up on the F1 calendar is the famous night race at the Marina Bay F1 circuit in Singapore; the track is nothing like the Monza circuit and will pose its own unique challenges. Ferrari finished on the podium with both its cars last year at the track, and considering this, Carlos Sainz will be high on confidence.
