Charles Leclerc claims the tension between him and Carlos Sainz have been “blown out of proportion” amidst poor season
Charles Leclerc has gone on to address the social media outburst over his partnership with a Carlos Sainz.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz
Charles Leclerc and Ferrari have been on the back foot this season. What has added to the troubles is what seems to be a tense relationship between the Monegasque driver and Carlos Sainz. While the Ferrari duo have not been particularly cooperative this season, there have been a lot of radio messages that showcase a tense situation between the two drivers.
During the British GP, the situation became even more tense when both the Ferrari drivers made remarks about each other during the qualifying session. Leclerc had priority in that session. However, Sainz went and overtook him on the last corner and broke the agreement. This in turn has become a cause for speculation that the two have an intense rivalry behind closed doors. Although, Charles Leclerc has a different story to tell.
In an interview, here is what he had to say about the whole situation. “I am quite active on social media, so I see what’s been said all around,” Leclerc said in an interview with Autosport. “It’s blown out of proportion, I think, with Carlos. We have a great relationship. “Outside the car, we know how to work together, and we get on really well together because we share lots of interests,” the Monegasque continued.
Tyre degradation during the race has left Charles Leclerc often at the back foot

Ferrari’s 2023 car has proven to be a track demon when it comes to qualifying. Leclerc has already grabbed two pole positions this season. However, the story on race-day is completely different. Tyre degradation has often left Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz at the back foot when compared to rivals Mercedes and Red Bull. However, Leclerc’s podium at Spa has proven to boost morale at Maranello.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen and Red Bull have been on a role this season. Having won his 8th consecutive race at Spa, the Dutch driver is preparing for his home race where he could break Sebastian Vettel’s record of 9 consecutive wins. The Milton Keynes based squad has gone on to win every race this season with Perez winning two and Max winning the rest. It will be interesting to see what happens in the second half.
