Lando Norris is having an outstanding 2023 season. Following upgrades to his MCL60, Norris secured four impressive podium finishes. He engaged in a close contest with Max Verstappen during the Japanese Grand Prix. The Englishman’s consistency has garnered attention from team principals, positioning him as a strong contender. Among them is Red Bull’s Team Principal, Christian Horner.

Lando Norris made his Formula 1 debut in 2018 as a driver for McLaren. Before entering F1, he achieved second place in the 2018 Formula 2 championship and won the Formula 3 championship in 2017. In the top tier, Norris holds the unfortunate record for the most championship points without a win. He currently occupies the seventh position in the championship standings with 115 points.

Norris is currently under contract with McLaren until 2025 without any exit clause. However, this contract doesn’t prevent team principals from acknowledging Norris as a potential driver for the future. Christian Horner has admitted that Norris is among several drivers Red Bull is looking closely for prospects. There is a huge possibility that the team will have a seat vacant in 2025, and Norris will be a perfect fit if they need a driver who challenges Verstappen.

Andrea Stella also acknowledged that he would feel uncomfortable conversing with a driver if they tried to persuade them with promises he couldn’t fulfill. He emphasized the importance of conducting conversations based on genuine assessments of facts to the best of their knowledge.

We don’t need to buy people in, we want people to give us the vote of confidence to stay with us genuinely truly believing in the journey together with McLaren,” concluded Andrea Stella
