Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 world champion, has climbed the ladder of success in the sport at a rapid pace. Under the current set of regulations, he has proved unstoppable but while F1 is at a halt, the Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner has made it known that Verstappen is a sweet guy outside of the sport.

Max Verstappen has a well-known reputation for being extremely aggressive on the race track and blunt while interacting with the media during Grand Prix weekends. He does not mince words while speaking and this sometimes leads people to think that he is rude for no reason.

However, when it comes to his personality outside of F1, it is totally different. While talking about the same on the Secrets for Success podcast, Christian Horner said,

Max as a person is just a very sweet 26-year-old young man who has a passion for racing and is not very comfortable with the fame and notoriety he has. He just wants to do his job, race hard, and is very honest and straightforward. He likes to play FIFA on his PlayStation when he is not in a race car. Outside the car, he's a sweet guy.

Looking at the reaction of the Brit, it seems that Verstappen switches to a completely different side of his outside of F1. Moreover, Horner has put specific emphasis on making it known that the former is just a 26-year-old guy who is extremely sweet and prefers spending time playing FIFA.

Max Verstappen could become a 4-time world champion in 2024

While Christian Horner has taken the time to give insights into Max Verstappen’s personality outside of F1, the latter has an opportunity to become a 4-time world champion this year. So far, he has managed to amass three titles consecutively.

Moreover, his performance during the 2023 F1 season was on a whole other level. He was able to amass a brilliant nineteen grand prix wins out of the possible twenty-two. Verstappen really stepped up his game big-time last year.

At 26 years of age, Max Verstappen has several years ahead of him, and considering this, he could prove to be the driver who somewhere down the line breaks Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher’s seven F1 titles record. The 2024 F1 season is not too far away as the first race weekend is slated to kick off on the 29th of February.
