The Formula 1 2022 season started off with a blast of a performance by the Scuderia Ferrari as their recruit Charles Leclerc took two back-to-back race wins at Bahrain and Melbourne with the help of the near-perfect F1-75. But that was followed by a patch of bad luck as Ferrari came across some serious issues with their car and Red Bull lapped up the opportunity to get race wins for their two racers. While Ferrari was struggling with reliability problems, Red Bull worked on their car and cemented their place at the top of the grid by scoring some precious Championship points.

As the situation stands right now, with twelve F1 races down, Red Bull has got a rock-solid place at the top of the Constructors’ Championship table with 431 points to their name and Ferrari is their closest competitor, but even they are almost a hundred points away from the lead with 331 Championship points. It seems that Red Bull has a smooth road ahead of them towards winning this year’s Constructors’ Championship and Christian Horner said that he wishes for nothing but an easy win in 2022.

While many of the fans have been imploring for a better performance from Ferrari so that the competition becomes a close one between the Scuderia and Red Bull, the Team Principal of the Milton-Keynnes-based outfit says that it is good for his team that the contest is not so close this time around. Christian Horner gave account of the fierce competition between Red Bull and Mercedes last year which dragged on till the last race of the year at Abu Dhabi before a result could be concluded.

Speaking of how Christian Horner is happy for the seemingly smooth path towards victory that lies ahead of Red Bull, the Briton said, “There’s not one ounce of me that wishes that [a close competition between Ferrari and Red Bull]. Last year was a heavyweight bout that went 22 rounds. And I’d prefer not to have to go through that again.”

He also commented, “The points tables look healthy, and it’s a great way to sign off into the summer break.”
