Lewis Hamilton, the former seven-time F1 world champion, will be seen repping the red of Ferrari from 2025 onwards. With his move, Hamilton has pretty much changed the whole landscape of the sport and while people are still talking, the Red team principal, Christian Horner, has shared immense delight regarding it.

Christian Horner ardently feels that it is brilliant that Lewis Hamilton will drive for an iconic brand like Ferrari next year. He views this as one of the best things that has happened in the sport for a long time.

Horner was recently asked to share his opinion on his fellow Brit’s move and while talking about it at Red Bull’s RB20 presentation, he said, as reported by Soymotor:

Lewis is not afraid to make these types of decisions. He had previously done so by swapping McLaren for Mercedes. It is obvious that he has seen something at Ferrari that makes him think it is a better place for his future, I think it is great for Formula 1 to have a Hamilton-Ferrari combination, it's a shame we have to wait until 2025.

The 50-year-old with his comments, has made it quite clear that in his opinion, the Ferrari move is a great deal for Lewis Hamilton. However, he has indicated that it is a bit of a shame that everyone has had to wait until 2025 to see the Brit dawn the red of the Ferrari F1 team.

Lewis Hamilton has taken the place of Carlos Sainz at Ferrari

While Christian Horner has left no stone unturned in talking up the 2025 move of Lewis Hamilton, the only loser in this whole fiasco has been Ferrari’s current driver, Carlos Sainz. Since joining Ferrari, the Spaniard has done exceptionally well but despite this, the prospect of signing Hamilton was just too much to pass for Fred Vasseur and company.

Sainz is seen by many as a solid/reliable driver. However, being the huge personality that Hamilton is, it makes sense from Ferrari’s marketing perspective. Having such a big name in their ranks is surely going to help the Italian team with its business all over the globe.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed above, it is going to be fascinating to see how Hamilton and Sainz would handle each other when they find themselves in close vicinity of each other during the upcoming 24 grand prix season. Fireworks can be expected between the two potent drivers.
