Christian Horner, the Red Bull team principal, joined the team in 2005. He was 31 years old and the youngest team boss in the paddock. Horner has now worked with many drivers during his time with Red Bull. He has seen the brilliance of two multiple Formula 1 world champions. Horner compared the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel to the double world champion Max Verstappen.
The Briton noted the difference between the two drivers. It is no doubt that they are highly talented and skillful. However, how they show themselves to the outside world is very different. Vettel and Verstappen have completely different personalities. Christian Horner discussed their character in the Talking Bull podcast. He was thrilled to have the podcast back up and running.
Horner started with Vettel, “Sebastian was a private person. He didn’t give anything of himself, personality. He never let people see really who he was. People became to love that and he became hugely popular towards the end of his career. Max is a completely different character. He wears his heart on his sleeve and he has a lion painted on the top of his helmet for a reason. He drives like a lion.”
Christian Horner reveals Max Verstappen has immense support

Sebastian Vettel was with Red Bull from 2009 to 2014. He won four consecutive championships with the Milton Keynes team from 2010 to 2013. Though he won titles, the fans were not fond of the German. On several occasions, the spectators booed Vettel, and he revealed that it had a negative impact on him. However, he was more expressive towards the end, and people loved him. The F1 community mourned when he retired. Christian Horner revealed that both Vettel and Verstappen are known for their fierce driving but are completely different individuals.
Horner believes Max Verstappen is more expressive than Vettel in his early days. The 25-year-old is often blunt with his opinions and expresses what he feels. Horner also spoke about Vertsappen’s potential, “He’s immensely talented and you just know he’s gonna give a 110%. It’s great to see where we go around the sport, how much support he has and how much Checo has. But, of course, in different countries, there are different allegiances to drivers.”
As for the 2023 season, Horner believes in both Verstappen and Perez. He is confident that Red Bull can win their third consecutive championship. This has been the best start for Red Bull as they won the first three rounds of Formula 1. They also had a 1-2 finish. There is a reason why they are the season’s favorites. The pace of the RB19 makes it difficult for others to fight against them.
