Max Verstappen is on the verge of winning his third consecutive world championship title. He currently leads the championship standings with a total of 400 points. His teammate, Sergio Perez, holds the second position in the constructors’ championship, trailing behind Verstappen. However, in recent races, Perez has struggled to fully capitalize on the dominance of the RB18 car. Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner acknowledged that adding another driver to compete against Verstappen in the same car would pose a significant challenge for some drivers.

Max Verstappen made his Formula 1 debut in 2015 with Toro Rosso. After four races with Toro Rosso, Verstappen transitioned to Toro Rosso’s parent team, Red Bull. In the 2021 season, became the first Dutch driver to win a championship title and secured another title in 2022. In the 2023 season, Max Verstappen’s dominance continues as he asserts his presence in the Formula 1 landscape with RB18.

Lando Norris achieved four podium finishes in 2023 season and had a tight battle with Max Verstappen in the Japanese Grand Prix. Lando’s outstanding performance has caught the eye of team principals, establishing him as a strong contender. Among these, Christian Horner,  recognized Lando Norris’ potential.

“Lando is a great driver. I mean, he’s a big talent, big personality, and of course, he’s one of those drivers that you keep an eye on,”

Lando Norris has previously stated that he turned down offers from Red Bull Racing. He has a contract extension with McLaren until 2025. Red Bull’s Chief Advisor, Helmut Marko, has also expressed interest in the possibility of Norris teaming up with Verstappen, believing it could yield favorable results. However, Christian Horner doesn’t rule out the possibility of other young talents partnering with the team in the future.

“But there’s many drivers that you keep an eye on as well. There’s a generation of drivers out there at the moment that have got a huge amount of talent.” Concluded Christian Horner.
