Christian Horner, the Red Bull Team Principal, has recently shared details about his first meeting with his now-wife, Geri Horner. The Brit has revealed that he met Geri for the first time during a Monaco Grand Prix weekend, she was one of Bernie Ecclestone’s esteemed guests.
Geir has been alongside Christian for several years and has every now and then shown up during F1 Grand Prix weekends to support his man and the Red Bull F1 team. While the two have been together for quite some time, Horner has indicated that his first meeting with Geri was extremely awkward.
While talking about the moment, Horner added, “She was a guest of Bernie Ecclestone’s in Monaco one year and came down the pit lane. “I remember [McLaren boss] Ron Dennis was standing next to me and Eddie Jordan was there as well. Anyway, she gave Ron a kiss on the cheek, and she gave Eddie a kiss on the cheek.
“So I thought, ‘OK, I’m on for a kiss on the cheek here! I went to give her one and she shoved her hand out at me!” Looking at what Horner has said, one can imagine how awkward things must have gotten between the pair at the Monaco Grand Prix. However, despite their first meeting turning out to be difficult, the pair is together now and leading a happy married life.

While Horner is now leading a wonderful life with Geri, he has made it known that he did not tie the knot with his wife because she is very popular. He decided to commit his life to Geri because he fell in love with her the moment he first met her at the Monaco event.
While sharing further details about his relationship with Geri, he added, “You know, life works in mysterious ways. I didn’t marry Geri because she’s a Spice Girl. I married her because I fell in love with her. It will be 10 years this time next year and we’ve been happily married for seven.”
Christian Horner while describing his life with Geri, has in a very creative way, indicated how things work out when they are meant to work out between two people. The 49-year-old met the love of his life out of nowhere and is grateful for everything. The pair have also got two beautiful children.
Things are pretty smooth in Horner’s personal life, but what about his professional life? The 2023 F1 season has got off to the perfect start for the Milton-Keynes-based team but considering how unpredictable F1 is, would Horner and Co. be able to pull off the Bahrain result again at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit?
