‘Cold as the hard tyres in winter testing,’ Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc engage in top notch banter ahead of the Singapore GP

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc
As the Sochi Grand Prix has been cancelled amidst the ongoing Ukraine-Russia tension, the F1 drivers have suddenly found themselves in the middle of a two-week-long break right after the season resumed with the Monza Grand Prix, following the summer holidays. Now, some of the racers like Charles Leclerc have chosen to retreat to his hometown in Monaco for the off-time, before he has to get back to the tracks at the Singapore Grand Prix.
It is no news that Formula 1 is, quite possibly, one of the only sports in the world where there is such a jovial and Frank relationship between the competitors. And on Wednesday, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, both excellent racers from two of the top teams in the standings right now, engaged in some playful banter that proves that all the F1 racers are quite friendly with each other, no matter how fiercely they fight while driving on the racetrack.
Lewis’ exchange with Charles Leclerc, although based on all things “cold”, had the warmth of friendship that fans are swooning over. But this will not keep these drivers from going neck-to-neck at the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc get into a “cold” conversation in the Instagram comments section

It all started with a picture that Charles Leclerc posted on his Instagram wall–a snap from his recent cryotherapy session where the Ferrari recruit had to endure some subzero temperature. The post was captioned as “It’s cold.”, and this gave Lewis Hamilton the perfect window to chime in with some witty comments of his own. The seven-time F1 winner commented on Leclerc’s post saying, “How cold?“, to which, the Monagasque said, “As cold as the hard tires in Barcelona winter testing.”

This was a direct reference to the time when they had to go to Barcelona for a freezing pre-season winter testing session right ahead of the start of the F1 2022 Championship.
