Daniel Ricciardo’s only option ‘retirement’ as per renowned French reporter

While Daniel Ricciardo is in a joyful mood ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, he has faced criticism for his lackluster performances in the first two races of the 2024 season. Moreover, the 1980 F1 world champion, Alan Jones, has even claimed that Ricciardo is past his best.

While people are still having their say on Ricciardo’s performances, prominent French media, L’Equipe’s reporter, Fredrick Ferret, has come up with his assessment.

If he’s (Ricciardo) still on his way of driving like he did in the last two races, I’d say yes. Retirement.
Fredrick Ferret said via the F1 Nation podcast

Ricciardo has not got off to the best of starts during the ongoing campaign and has so far, proved second-best to VCARB teammate, Yuki Tsunoda. He needs a strong weekend at the Australian GP to put his critics to bed.

However, keeping in view his and Tsunoda’s pace in the VCARB 01, the 34-year-old could be in for another tough outing at Melbourne’s Albert Park. One has to also keep in mind that Ricciardo is also eyeing a Red Bull seat for the 2025 F1 season.
