Nicholas suffers from cerebral palsy, but that has not stopped the younger Hamilton to make a mark in the world of motorsport, with the 30-year-old being a regular contender in the British Touring Car Championship, driving with a modified car due to his disability.
Nicholas once again made Lewis proud, with the 30-year-old getting the opportunity to drive Mercedes’s F1 simulator at the team’s base in Brackley. This was a special occasion, with Nicholas becoming the first disabled person to try out a Formula 1 sim. Lewis Hamilton shared photos from the day and even narrated the story behind making this event come true on his Instagram. The 37-year-old stated how the two brothers had asked the Silver Arrows for such a chance earlier this year.
Lewis also remarked on the difficulties in getting access to a sim of this pedigree, especially for a person like Nicholas, the 7-time champion said, “Time in the sim is incredibly rare, and not something that is accessible for someone like my brother.” Lewis Hamilton further elaborated on the modifications made by the team to make this possible, the 37-year-old stated, “it took custom modifications to the seat, steering wheel, and pedals to make this possible.”

The elder Hamilton narrated his pride for Nicholas, for achieving this massive feat and being honored to witness such a fierce personality writing history, Lewis said, “He’s always been a fighter and seeing him have this day is an honour. The smile you see here never left his face. Can’t wait to share more of this special day.” The F1 driver went on to thank his team for arranging the whole instance and making Nicholas’s dream come true. The 37-year-old mentioned, “Thank you @mercedesamgf1 for the time and work put in to make this possible and make my brother’s dream come true.
This occasion will go down in history as a major accomplishment for Nicholas Hamilton, the brave fighter who against all odds has been doing the unthinkable throughout his life, even with a major disability, Nicholas has gone on racing and proved himself to be no slouch. Racing or even driving on an official team sim is a major task for anyone, with the sim replicating real-life feedback to the driver. Father Anthony Hamilton was also there to witness his son make history and Lewis posted an emotional picture of the two having a hug.
Thus there is no doubt that talent and bravery run in the Hamilton family, Lewis Hamilton is the household name, a man who defied all odds and became not only the first black F1 world champion but also established himself as one of the all-time greats. Younger Nicholas on the other hand is an even fiercer fighter than his brother, fighting against his disabilities and making a career in racing, something which millions can only dream of. Anthony Hamilton could not have been happier.
