Sergio Perez has come under the microscope for something that he has done off the F1 track. The Mexican star was at a restaurant recently where he refused to give an autograph to the son of a renowned ESPN Anchor, Miguel Gonzalez. The Red Bull driver was there with his family and sighted that as the reason for not giving an autograph and posing for a picture.
The incident has not sat well with the ESPN Anchor, and he has via Twitter blasted the Red Bull starlet, Sergio Perez. While making his emotions known, he wrote, “Thanks for ignoring and turning your back on my son when they were leaving the restaurant. Incredulous, I approached you to ask if you could take a picture with him and you denied it saying that you came with your family. This time the tears you provoked were not from emotion.”
“The child waited for them to finish and leave so as not to be impertinent, what a pity it bothers you when a child asks you for a photo, although you have every right to deny it. Sergio Perez, by the way, the garbage on the table is collected. Education is also taught and learned as a family.” Looking at the reaction of Gonzalez, it is clear that he has left no stone unturned in letting his frustration known to Sergio Perez.
F1 drivers are adored all over the globe and are more often than not surrounded by their fans, considering that Perez was having some quality time with his family at the restaurant, it is very likely that the people are going to have a divided opinion on the subject matter. Moreover, only Perez knows why exactly he did not stop to give an autograph to his young fan.

Sergio Perez has got his eyes set on the 2023 F1 Championship
While what has happened recently regarding the restaurant saga is unfortunate for both parties, Sergio Perez has got way bigger fish to fry during the 2023 F1 season. After three races in the current campaign, Perez has amassed 54 points in comparison to Max Verstappen’s tally of 69 points. This season seems to be the best chance for the Mexican to win his first F1 World Championship.
However, getting the better of the reigning World Champion is not as easy as having a walk in the park. Max Verstappen, these days is considered the bar against which all the other 19 drivers are matched. While the other teams are nowhere near the performance output of the RB19 this year, Sergio Perez is the only other driver who has got the same machinery as the Dutchman underneath him.
Considering that Max has scored two victories this year and Sergio has got one on the board, the 2023 tussle between the two is shaping up to be a must-see affair. Both are well-established drivers in their own right and it is going to be fascinating to see whether Sergio Perez would be able to hang with his teammate or not.
