Lewis Hamilton is currently tied for the record of most world championships in F1 history, with seven titles along with Michael Schumacher. Hamilton equaled the record in 2020, hoping to break it in 2021, but was thwarted by Max Verstappen

Now in 2024, with an upgraded W15 under development, Hamilton may have a chance. And his potential title bid is supported by former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone. Ecclestone, who recently was controversially named in Jeffrey Epstein’s list, claimed he wants Hamilton to make history with an eighth title.

I hope he makes it. He would then make history

Ecclestone, a big fan of Schumacher, was not extremely inclined towards the record being broken. After openly opposing Hamilton’s title charge in 2021, Ecclestone seems to have had a change of heart for the 38-year-old F1 star.

Bernie Ecclestone claims Mick Schumacher should have driven for Red Bull

Mick Schumacher was one of the most promising drivers after his F2 campaign, winning the title and joining the Haas F1 team. After two years of unfortunate accidents and substandard results, he was let go and remained without a seat in 2023.

Bernie Ecclestone, former F1 boss, claims there was a way Schumacher could have rescued his career. Ecclestone said Schumacher should have joined Red Bull, a team with an extremely successful junior program, which may have assisted the young German to race wins.

He would have been in good hands in a team like Red Bull with its junior program, where you help young drivers achieve victories.
Bernie Ecclestone said, as reported by gpfans.com

Schumacher is currently the reserve driver for Mercedes, being helped by the team to recuperate for a potential future F1 seat. With the German racing giant Audi joining the grid in just two years, Schumacher may finally get his big break with a spot in the team.
