Lando Norris has been a promising member of the Formula grid for six years now, as he has proven to be a talented pilot with potential. Numerous teams have headhunted Norris, one of the more insistent being the Milton Keyes outfit of Red Bull.

Norris has stayed adamant about remaining with McLaren but may be tempted to join Red Bull in the future. Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert, a race winner who spoke out about Michael Schumacher’s impact recently, warned the young Briton against joining Red Bull. Herbert said Norris has a welcoming team with a competitive car, and leaving to join Red Bull isn’t worth the risk.

Now, is the risk of him going to Red Bull worth it in the situation that he finds himself? McLaren [are] doing really, really well… McLaren love having him in the team. He delivers when the car is working properly… Is it worth the risk? Personally no, I don’t think it is worth the risk.
Herbert said, as reported by PlanetF1

Lando Norris scored seven podiums in 2023, the most he has ever achieved in a single season of F1. With six second-place finishes, Norris finished sixth in the championship, equalling his record. Norris placed three places higher than his rookie teammate Oscar Piastri, who also managed two podiums.

F1 pundit deems Lando Norris best driver without a race win

Karun Chandhok, a former racing driver turned F1 pundit for Sky F1, was impressed by Norris’s performance. Chandhok dubbed Norris the ‘best driver without a win’, commending the 24-year-old’s driving prowess in the past few years despite a few qualifying mistakes in 2023.

I think that’s been the case for the last few years, hasn’t he, as the best driver in Formula 1 without a win. I think he had a few qualifying errors this year but what was really impressive was he recovered from them.
Chandhok said, as reported by PlanetF1

Lando Norris has come close to winning on multiple occasions but fell just short every time. Norris has finished in P2 seven times in his career, six times this season alone. The McLaren driver came close to winning in Sochi 2021, but a heartbreaking strategy error by the young driver saw him finish only seventh after sliding off-track.
