The work around the development of the 2024 F1 cars has officially begun at the factories of the various F1 teams. Red Bull has proved too mighty since the dawn of the new regulations and amidst all this, former 4-time world champion, Alain Prost wants all the F1 teams to work harder to catch the Austrian team next year.
Max Verstappen and Co. secured this year’s Constructors championship at the Japanese GP and then the Dutchman wrapped up the Driver’s gold during the Qatar GP weekend. Moreover, despite this, Red Bull kept on churning in back-to-back wins until the end of last week’s Abu Dhabi event and teams are concerned the dominance is here to stay.
Keeping in view how dominant Red Bull has proven to be in the last few years, Alain Prost feels that 2024 has to be the year where they are put under pressure. while talking along the same lines said, as reported by Motorsport.com;
You have to work harder if you want to reach this level. I understand that it can be frustrating sometimes, but I found it awesome.
Looking at the reaction of the Frenchman, it is quite clear that he is expecting the heavy hitters of the pinnacle of racing to come up with lethal weapons for the 2024 F1 season. He ardently believes that adversity is part of a sport but one has to rise above it to do something significant.
Red Bull could be put under pressure next year by the lights of Mercedes and Ferrari
While Alain Prost wants to see a hard-fought battle between the various teams for the 2024 world championship, there is a common belief in the F1 paddock that the lights of Ferrari and Mercedes could pose a challenge to Red Bull next year. These two are the favorites to be competing at the extreme front end next year.
Ferrari and Mercedes were pretty much neck and neck throughout the 2023 F1 season, while they had their ups and downs, they were able to bounce back from them and end their respective campaigns in close vicinity of each other. The former ended third whereas Toto Wolff and Co. managed second.
