Formula 1 is the king class of motorsports where only the créme de la créme of the racing world gets to enter as a part of the fastest twenty drivers in the whole world. They drive their cars at a speed that often surpasses 220 mph and bring home millions of dollars at the end of each year. Formula 1 racecar driver is a huge honor and a title that very few are blessed to flaunt in their lives and Lando Norris had gotten the chance to step into F1 when he was only 19.
Owing to Lando’s immense talent, he has managed to hold on to his seat at McLaren through all these years ever since his debut at the team in 2019. Since he was first spotted in the king class of motorsports, the Briton has become somewhat of a media sweetheart because of his adorable reactions and down-to-earth nature. He always interacts with the fans in a very friendly way, and even contests against them on his Twitch channel whenever he plays video games.
Due to Lando Norris’ enormous fanbase, there is no doubt why Netflix used him as one of the main characters in their popular docuseries ‘Drive to Survive’. The series blew up and spread the popularity of Formula 1. Such has been the impact of DTS that, in a recent TikTok video, he was addressed as a ‘Drive to Survive’ actor. This has gotten the fans quite angry since they believe it is an insult toward Norris that his racing achievements were being belittled by calling him a series actor.
Fans drag ‘Drive to Survive’ for being too popular for Formula 1’s own good
The F1 ‘Drive to Survive’ series has done wonders for the franchise’s PR. The Netflix show has single-handedly made Formula 1 into a household name in the USA while all they were aware of were IndyCar and NASCAR. However, the American fans have started pouring in in huge numbers as the FIA saw it fit to organize three massive Grands Prix across the pond–in Las Vegas, in Miami, and on the Circuit of the Americas.
The conventional F1 fans believe ‘Drive to Survive’ has overdramatized the feuds between F1 racers. Moreover, they have also protested against Lando Norris being called an actor since he is a full-blown F1 racer. Here is what the fans have to say about Lando being called an ‘actor on DTS’:
Lando Norris recently took over the internet with some cool photos from his vacation in Bali with his close friend, DJ Martin Garrix. Lando and Martin first met through Max Verstappen, and they clicked instantly. Lando posed in a beautiful violet traditional sarung that made him almost look like Lewis Hamilton because of his tan.
