‘F1 fans creating stories need an MRI scan’: Yuki Tsunoda debunks conspiracy theories resulting from his ‘bizarre’ Dutch GP retirement
The Dutch Grand Prix was filled with its own set of excitement, drama and the results had many fans making up several conspiracy theories. The main theory that is popular among fans is the sudden retirement of AlphaTauri driver Yuki Tsunoda in the middle of the race, triggering a Virtual Safety Car.
The VSC was a blessing in disguise for Red Bull’s lead driver, Max Verstappen as it helped him secure the victory at his home track. The timing of Tsunoda’s retirement sparked several conspiracy theories among fans and they felt that the timing was planned by AlphaTauri to help their sister team.
Tsunoda has gone on record to debunk all the insane conspiracy theories made by the fans and assures them that his retirement wasn’t planned but was a result of mechanical failure that the team failed to catch earlier in the race. When asked what he felt about the conspiracy theory, Tsunoda responded saying, “Well, it’s funny that fans are really excited to always create the story.”
Many fans have stirred up conversations about the Dutch Grand Prix and feel that if Tsunoda’s car had not broken down then Hamilton was on the road to secure his first victory of the season.
Will Yuki Tsunoda keep his seat with AlphaTauri in the 2023 F1 season?
The 2022 F1 season has been subpar for the 22 year Japanese driver, he has been unable to score enough points this year for his team and is currently 16th in the driver standings. The bad performance by Tsunoda so far this season has had fans questioning as to whether he will be able to retain his seat with AlphaTauri next season or not.
Tsunoda has scored a total of 11 points for the team which is 7 less than his teammate Pierre Gasly. This has kept fans wondering as to whether a new driver will be introduced in the grid next year or will Tsunoda have a seat in Formula 1 next year as well despite the poor results.
With 7 races left in the season, if Tsunoda wants to show considerable results and retain a seat for next year then he must do so in the upcoming races and score crucial points for his team.
