Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton had one of the most entertaining and nerve-wracking F1 world championship fights in 2021. Their battle of fierce throughout that campaign but amidst Verstappen’s recent dominance in the sport, former F1 world champion, Alain Prost has claimed that he has calmed down as Hamilton has not been able to bring the fight since 2021.

Lewis Hamilton was the top dog at the pinnacle of motor racing during the turbo hybrid era. None of his rivals were able to stand up to him during that time. But since the disappointment of 2021, Hamilton has struggled to pose a world challenge for the F1 title. However, this has been mostly down to Mercedes not being able to produce a potent car.

Under the new set of regulations, the Brackley-based team has struggled to cope with the might of Red Bull. Alain Prost while explaining how the lack of a potent challenge from Hamilton has changed Verstappen, wrote in his L’Epuiqe column, “No, this Max disappeared after 2021, after that great fight with Lewis Hamilton.”

Max Verstappen has got a bright future ahead of him

While Alain Prost feels Max Verstappen has changed quite a bit since 2021, the latter has got a bright future ahead of him. The current set of regulations is going to stay in play until the end of 2025, and considering this, the Dutchman has a very real chance of wrapping up at least two more titles by the time 2026 comes around.

Moreover, even if the other teams are able to come up with potent machinery in the upcoming years, one would think twice before betting against Verstappen. Such has been his level of dominance in the recent years of the pinnacle of motor racing. To put things into perspective, one can look at his record during the ongoing 2023 F1 season.

Max Verstappen has been honing his racing skills with each passing year and is considered by several as the best driver on the current F1 grid. He has currently got three world titles to his name and is in a really good position to have a serious go at breaking Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumcher’s joint Formula 1 world tiles record.
