F1 Pundit labels “complicated” Lewis Hamilton as a “Diva”

Lewis Hamilton is one of the biggest names in F1 history. The 39-year-old achieved historic success at the pinnacle of motorsport with seven world titles. Millions of fans across the world admire the 39-year-old. However, renowned F1 reporter Kai Ebel has revealed that an interesting aspect of Hamilton’s personality on the grid.

Ebel reckoned that Lewis Hamilton was a complicated figure in the F1 paddock. The German reporter claimed that the 39-year-old could be a diva. Kai Ebel highlighted that the seven-time world champion was a great entertainer when he was in a good mood. However, things would change quite quickly if Hamilton was not happy.

The F1 pundit pointed out that Lewis Hamilton would become monosyllabic or even break off conversations if he was in a bad mood. Subsequently, Ebel highlighted that it was up to the reporters to ensure that they don’t ask too much. The German claimed that he had learnt not to ask particularly aggressive questions to Hamilton.

But if he is in a bad mood, he quickly becomes very monosyllabic or breaks off the conversation. But I see it this way: You can hand out, but you also have to be able to plug in. But I always stay above the belt line with my questions.

On the other hand, Ebel claimed that Max Verstappen was one of the best drivers to have a conversation in the F1 paddock. The German reckoned that contrary to Lewis Hamilton’s complicated personality, Verstappen was always funny and entertaining. Moreover, the F1 reporter highlighted that the Dutch driver remained authentic when answering the media.

Certainly, Max Verstappen has become known for his straightforward comments. The 26-year-old does not hold back criticism against F1 in a few matters such as Sprint races. Verstappen had even slammed the Las Vegas GP before the inaugural race weekend. While Lewis Hamilton has a more toned down approach. The British driver understands the need for answers which would go well in the media circles.

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are two starkly different personalities. Hamilton is known for his image globally as an F1 icon. On the other hand, Verstappen remains focused on racing without caring much for other happenings in the F1 paddock.
