F1 Report: Haas’ Mick Schumacher might make a move to Aston Martin in 2023 if Seb leaves

With every new season in F1, comes a host of exciting news about the driver market. Each year, the teams choose the drivers they wish to recruit for their Formula 1 campaign, and all the conversations surrounding the drivers’ market are usually topics of great discussion amongst the motorsport enthusiasts. And the driver market talks for 2023 have already started, even though we are just six races into the 2022 F1 season, which has seen a paradigm shift in the rules and regulations from the rules which were followed during the turbo-hybrid era of this sport.
As per the reports, Aston Martin might have an empty spot for filling up next summer as four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel is rumored to be leaving the British team as well as F1 at the end of this season. Seb Vettel, who has already won the title four times during his tenure at Red Bull, joined Ferrari in 2015, and he shifted to Aston Martin in 2021.
If Sebastian Vettel leaves Aston Martin in 2022, the team will have a vacant spot for the 2023 driver market. The rumors in the F1 enthusiasts’ communities point towards Mick Schumacher as a front-runner for the seat in Aston Martin, but the British team might also try to get two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso to sign with them.
Sebastian Vettel’s mentee Mick Schumacher might take his seat in Aston Martin in 2023

While Sebastian Vettel has always been regarded as one of the most talented races in the history of Formula 1, he never found the immense success that he enjoyed while at Red Bull, with any other team. Aston Martin, even though they promised to deliver some great results, have performed dismally in this current season as they now stand in the ninth position in the World Championship standings. So, many would assume Seb will leave the team and take retirement from the sport by the end of 2022.
In his place, Mick Schumacher is the rumored racer who might be hired by Aston Martin. F2 World Champion Mick is the son of seven-time F1 title-winner Michael Schumacher, a fellow German and a great friend to Sebastian Vettel. Vettel has always looked after Mick as if he were his own son, and if Mick Schumacher takes Sebastian’s place in Aston Martin, it would be a great news for the F1 fans.
But another option that is open to Aston Martin is two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso, who still hasn’t signed a contract renewal with his current team–Alpine. Now, only time will tell if Mick Schumacher or Fernando Alonso will get the seat in Aston Martin for the F1 2023 season.
