The US GP was a race weekend that the American team, the Haas F1 team would like to forget. Both the drivers for the team failed to score points and finish in the top ten to impress the fans in their home race.
Following the disappointing race results, Haas claimed that there were multiple track violations at the COTA circuit at turn 6. Subsequently, Haas submitted a legal dossier to FIA containing evidence of violations by multiple racers on the track.
According to the appeal, Nico Hulkenberg was to move ahead to the seventh spot and score points followed by Logan Sargeant moving up a spot. The subsequent drivers would pass Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll in positions, and Pierre Gasly and Valtteri Bottas would move up one spot each.
In that case, a successful appeal could have changed the entire classification of the race. After summoning multiple teams for the hearing on Wednesday, FIA has now formally rejected the appeal due to a lack of evidence.
Notably, Sergio Perez from Red Bull was involved in the appeal and Red Bull would lose out on points in case of a successful appeal. Hence many speculations started flooding the media that FIA prioritized Red Bull over a legitimate and genuine appeal for track limit violations.
Fans heavily criticized FIA and Red Bull over this news
Fans were quick to comment and criticize FIA and Red Bull in a recent tweet on X. One fan claimed that FIA wouldn’t take away points from the drivers are Perez from Red Bull was involved. Another fan attached a comical image that referred to FIA penalizing every team in F1 except Red Bull.

Multiple fans renamed FIA and called the team as ‘FIABULL’ referring to the favoritism by FIA to Red Bull. Another fan mentioned a specific steward Derick Warrick and renamed him Derick “Redbull” Warrick as the stewards at US GP made the final call over the petition. Some fans claimed that Haas’ claims were irrelevant and called the team a ‘clown team’.

Of course. They weren’t gonna take points off Perez for exceeding track limits 27 times because he’s in a certain car.

Now that red bull has escaped punishment, they'll make it mandatory for all post race track limits reviews to have some sort of penalty.

FIA desperately needs to recheck the footage at Turn 6 and come up with a more legible answer to Haas’ appeal. The change in result would seriously help Haas and gain them six crucial points which could uplift the team from the last spot to a much better spot.
