Formula 1 fans have gone to Twitter to bring up a possible debate topic with Sebastian Vettel announcing his retirement at the end of the 2022 season. Many believe if the 35-year-old German driver was still driving with Ferrari, he would currently be dominating the 2022 F1 season with F1-75 considering the fact that the car is able to compete with the Red Bull’s championship-winning car this season. Vettel left Ferrari in 2020 to go to Aston Martin and is now retiring at the end of this season.

There have been mixed feelings about the above statement and comments in favour of Vettel have come out, such as, “Vettel led the the standings in the 2nd fastest car in 2017 at the summer break. That makes me think that he would this year. And in 2019 vettel beat leclerc in rp and would’ve beaten in points if not for reliability issues and bad luck but okay, whatever.”

Another user stated “I agree with you but let’s be honest: Vettel would have rejected some of Ferrari’s decisions and manage something more. We’ve seen Sainz do that which lead to better results most of the times.”

Here are a few of the other reactions in favour of Vettel:

There have been several users who reject this notion and have commented saying, “He would be behind both mercedes. Vettel in his prime was one of the best but now, he’s on stroll Niveau”

Another user said “This dude be slowing down and obstructing in all the wrong places this season. Either he doesn’t care anymore or he’s losing his edge but this claim is a stretch. Prime Seb is gone”

Nevertheless, since the German driver has announced his retirement, many are sad to see him leave the sport in which he is considered one of the all-time greats and is also the youngest driver in the history of F1 to win a World Championship in the sport. He has contributed a lot to F1 and many hope to see him return in the possible future in an active role.
