The Brazilian GP weekend is underway. The Interlagos circuit will be hosting an F1 Sprint weekend. Daniel Ricciardo was highly motivated heading into the weekend. However, things have not gone off to a good start for Ricciardo as the Australian driver failed to make it out of the first Qualifying session in Sao Paulo.

The Honey Badger was struggling during Q1 at Interlagos. The 34-year-old was unable to get the most out of the AlphaTauri. Subsequently, Ricciardo was knocked out in Q1 as he could only manage P16 in the session. The Australian driver missed out on Q2 alongside teammate Yuki Tsunoda. As both AlphaTauri drivers failed to break into the Top 15.

This will come as a major setback for the 34-year-old. Daniel Ricciardo has been linked to the second seat at Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen. Danny Ric is rumored to be in contention to replace an underperforming Sergio Perez at Milton Keynes. However, Ricciardo’s failure to outqualify Tsunoda might raise some eyebrows in the Austrian team.

Moreover, one fan claimed that the 34-year-old was washed at Interlagos with this disappointing start to the weekend. The fan commented, “Danny back to being washed. sad day.” On the other hand, one user claimed that Liam Lawson could have taken the car to Q2 if he had been behind the wheel of the AT04 this weekend.

Certainly, Daniel Ricciardo has had a tough start to the Brazilian GP weekend. The 34-year-old would be looking to turn things around on Saturday with the F1 Sprint in a bid to salvage a better result. However, the Australian driver would face a difficult drive in the main race on Sunday. Fans would be looking forward to see how things pan out for the 34-year-old.
