Charles Leclerc hasn’t always had much luck during his visits to Baku. However, it was slightly different this time around. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is known for it’s uncertainty which further leads to making the race pretty unpredictable. The Ferrari driver has had a pretty decent track record when it comes to qualifying on the streets of Baku. He got his first pole position on the track in 2021.
However, the Monegasque wasn’t able to convert it into a win. He further went on to take pole yet again in 2022 but bad luck hit him again on Sunday. Charles Leclerc seemed determined to change things up this time around. With the new sprint race and weekend format put in place for the first time in Baku, it seemed like things would change. Leclerc managed to match the expectations of the Scuderia as he went on to get pole for sprint qualifying and the main race.
As always, the Monegasque wasn’t able to convert his pole into a win in neither of the races. Charles finished P2 in the sprint while finishing third on Sunday after being able to hold onto the lead for just the first few laps. Nevertheless it was still a better result than last year’s misfortunes. What seemed more frustrating was the press conference where his title rivals Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were getting all the attention leaving him in a dilemma.
Charles Leclerc pretends to fall asleep during the press conference and the fans were all for it

Out of all the weird and funny stuff that Charles Leclerc could do, he ultimately chose to be himself. This sent the fans into ruptures as the Ferrari driver was more entertaining than the whole conference itself. His eye roll and his hilarious attempt to pretend to fall asleep sent the fans into a series of laughter. Some could understand his situation while others didn’t stop making fun of him.
Charles Leclerc seemed to have had it with the press conference. With majority of the questions being asked to Verstappen and Perez, it was as if the Monegasque had to sit through a boring lecture. Nevertheless, all the focus will now be towards the 2023 Miami Grand Prix which will be taking place this weekend. The Ferrari driver will be keen on emerging victorious after losing out to Max in the inaugural race last year.
